Side Hustle Chores

by Roni Agress 04/14/2019

The side hustle chores, you know the ones that you do while you are doing something else. For example, you are vacuuming and picking the kids room at the same time. While the gas pump is filling your tank, you are cleaning out the car. Multi-tasking is a necessity with the way our lives run these days. You don’t just watch television, but along with your nightly news, you fold a load of laundry or pack lunches for the next day. Look at how you organize your day and realize that you probably do much more then you think. So how can you maximize your time and efforts with side hustle chores?

Partners in Time

There are many kinds of chores that you do together without thinking about it. But let us look at some ways that maybe you haven’t thought of before. Cleaning the shower while you wait for your conditioner to do its job is a great side hustle chore. Waiting for your tea kettle or the pasta water to boil is enough time to steam clean your microwave. Put a load of dirty towels into the washing machine and use one of the towels to wipe down the dryer and washer. Any part of your daily routine that causes you to pause for even a moment or two can be an opportunity to pick away at something else. Resulting in getting more accomplished throughout your day.

Away from Home

Running errands and going to appointments throughout your day provides small bits of waiting time that you can again engage your side hustle. Although you will need to be aware of your surroundings and do not participate in anything that is of a personal nature or sensitive information that would put you at risk such as identify theft. That being said, you can while waiting in a doctor's office schedule any number of online items. Tasks such as ordering take out to pick up later, or an oil change appointment. Maybe setting up coffee with a friend via text or reminding your teen to be home on time with a Snap. All these side chores can pick away at your never-ending to-do list and perhaps gain you some downtime at the end of your day to relax.

So next time you find yourself waiting for any length of time find a small task to complete while you wait.
